Mercedes windows destroyed in Hurst Road, Kennington, Ashford

A mum says she might have to scrap her Mercedes after a vandal smashed the windscreen and window, causing almost £1,000 of damage.

The college student, 36, has been left shaken up after the incident, as she has only lived in the area in Ashford for just over a year.

"I'm so upset," she said.

"It happened just outside my house in Hurst Road, Kennington, and it looks like they have done it with a hammer to the windscreen and drivers window.

"I have put a bag over the drivers side window.

"I am so worried about my father’s car which is also parked here now."

The hairdressing student says she thinks the vandalism must have happened on Tuesday night as her car was unharmed before then.

She added: "Probably where I haven't taken it out for a little while and it’s been parked, someone has probably just done it drunk or something.

"I'm not sure at all, I’m trying to work it out myself."

She says she doesn't know how she is going to afford to get her car repaired.

"I don’t know how I’m going to find the money to replace the windows as I’ve already been quoted £700 plus VAT," she said.

"Dad is talking about scrapping the car as we just can’t afford to fix it."
