Sixteen-year-old spinner Jago Pearson took a career-best 7-46 to help Hythe to a vital five-wicket Kent League Division 1 win over Ashford Town in a basement battle last Saturday.

Shannon Fattore’s 87 helped the visitors to 196 all-out but 54 from Sam Butler and 47 from Leon Morgan guided the home side to victory.

Sibton Park overcame Harvel by 53 runs in the battle of the top two to firmly establish themselves as the team to catch in Kent League Division 2.

Andy Allon hit 84 of the home side’s 205 all-out before Steven Rower took 5-42 as Harvel were dismissed for 152.

Park won the Godden Cup at Folkestone last Friday night after a crushing defeat of Saltwood.

The Lyminge side’s eight-man-team posted a huge total of 193 from their 12 overs with Andy Allon clubbing 84, George Leadbetter adding 56 and Martin Wren cracking 43 not out.

Jamie Keeler then took three wickets as Saltwood were dismissed for 86 in reply.
