Hythe Town manager Scott Porter is aiming for a win double over the Easter weekend which will put his team right back in play-off contention in Ryman League, Division 1 South.

Town visit Walton Casuals on Saturday before taking on Folkestone at Reachfields on Monday – and the Town boss knows his players won’t need any motivating after their humiliating 8-0 defeat to Invicta on Boxing Day.

Porter (pictured) said: "We obviously owe them one after what happened at their place, and after that game I made clear to the players exactly how I felt.

"But a lot of things have changed since then. Both teams have made changes in personnel, and I think there is a good, healthy rivalry between the clubs.

"I have got a lot of respect for Neil (Cugley) and we talk on a regular basis."

With Cugley’s side still pushing hard for promotion, Monday’s game seems certain to draw the highest crowd of the season to Reachfields, but before that Porter and his players must overcome Walton Casuals after reviving their own play-off hopes with back-to-back wins.

Skipper Dave Cook will miss both Easter matches because of suspension but Porter feels his squad is strong enough to cope, even after allowing Gary Mickelborough to rejoin Whitstable last week while Kane Rice has gone to Chipstead.

Porter added: "I said I didn’t want our season to fizzle out after the bad run we had in March and the boys have turned things around."
