Hunt for masked gunman after fast food outlet raid

STAFF at a fast food restaurant in a Kent town were locked in a store room during an armed robbery.

The raid at KFC at Ashford's Eureka Leisure Park happened at around 1.30am on Monday.

One man, who it is believed was armed with a gun, threatened two members of staff who were alone at the premises.

The offender, who was wearing a balaclava, escaped with a large quantity of cash.

The two staff male staff members, who were not injured, managed to get out of the store room and raise the alarm.

Detectives have now left the scene after a forensic examination.
