The devastated family of a "devoted" father-of-three who
died after being hit by a car in Tenterden have spoken of their
heartache.

Neil Bickley, 45, was knocked down by a black Renault Megane
in Appledore Road while walking
on his way to work early last Thursday.

Mr Bickley, who lived in Tenterden and is pictured
right, was taken to Ashford's William Harvey
Hospital, where he later died.

His relatives today told of their grief at the loss of the
insurance worker and school governor.

A statement read: "He leaves his partner of 20 years and three
young children.

"He was educated at Sevenoaks Prep and Sevenoaks School and
later qualified as a chartered loss adjuster and was highly
respected in the London insurance market.

"Neil was a devoted family man and cherished his time with his
family. He will be sadly missed.

"Neil enjoyed various sporting interests, particularly golf and
country pursuits, and also gave so willingly and generously of his
time to help and support Tenterden Church of England Junior and
Infant schools as a parent-governor and as a regular helper at
school events.

"Neil also had a strong loving bond with his two brothers Jeff
and Anthony and sister Tara, who are devastated by this tragedy as
are his mother and father, all of whom have benefitted richly from
his immense family commitment and all deeply mourn his untimely
death."
