Haiti plea from Salvation Army in Ashford

The Salvation Army in Ashford is urging people to support fundraising efforts to help those suffering after the earthquakes in Haiti.

The charity, which has worked in Haiti since 1950, has already donated £50,000 to support emergency and rebuilding work.

Senior leader at Ashford Salvaion Army Mark Scott said: “Fundraising is currently the most urgent need and we are directing people to our national website as it is the quickest and most efficient method of funds getting to the correct department.”

Anyone who wants to help is asked to donate by visiting www.salvationarmy.org.uk or by calling 0207 367 4777.

Cheques can also be made out to Haiti Emergency Response and sent to The Salvation Army International Development (UK), The Salvation Army, 101 Newington Causeway, London SE1 6BN.
