Girl, 13, assaulted in Ashford

Police are searching for a man after it was reported this morning that a 13-year-old girl was assaulted in Ashford.

The teenager was pushed to the ground as she walked on a cycle path between Beaver Road and Jemmett Road, and the assailant ran off after the girl's friend hit him.

She was left shocked but not injured following the incident, which was reported to police at 8.30am.

The attacker is described as aged in his 20s, of slim build and was wearing a red scarf, black jogging bottoms and a black, waterproof top.

Police are looking at CCTV from the area which was busy with people on their way to work and school and officers have appealed for anyone who saw the man, possibly running, to contact Kent Police on 101 giving reference 07-193.
