Fresh appeal over 'wrong way' crash driver

KENT Police officers are renewing their appeal for witnesses after a man drove the wrong way along the London-bound carriageway of the M20 near Ashford on Sunday June 11.

They are trying to establish where the 79-year-old local man joined the motorway and are appealing for anyone who saw a vehicle attempt to join the carriageway the wrong way or a car driving the wrong way down a slip road at about 9.50pm, to contact them.

The elderly man received serious, injuries in a subsequent collision involving a further three cars after travelling in a coast-bound direction on the London-bound carriageway. He remains in hospital.

Anyone with information should contact PC Paul Buchan at Kent Police on 01622 798571.
