Celebrations in Ashford, Chartham and rest of Kent for England's 6-1 defeat of Panama in the World Cup

Kent joined the roar of victory as England flattened Panama in the World Cup today.

Gareth Southgate's squad crushed the Central American side in a 6-1 hammering.

The team is now guaranteed a place in the knockout stages of the tournament in Russia.

Our photographers captured the scenes of elation as fans watched the match in the Phoenix pub in Tufton Street, Ashford, the John Wallis in the town's Middle Row and The Local at Cockering Road, Chartham.

But all over Kent, England football supporters were celebrating their team's biggest win at a finals.

Friends and families soaked up the tension and excitement as they gathered in front of TVs at home or in pubs in time for the 1pm kick-off.

Golden-booted captain Harry Kane, who had scored both goals against Tunisia on Monday, got a hat-trick today.

Team-mate John Stones scored two and Jesse Lingard got one.

England confront Belgium in their final group stages game next Thursday evening.

They are at present at the top of their Group G table.

If they stay in first place after Thursday they will meet the runner-ups of Group H in the knockout stages on Tuesday, July 2.

They will otherwise play the Group H winners next day.

These teams are at present Japan and Senegal.
