Two members of Folkestone Running Club, John Creane and Edmond Simpson, both won gold medals in the British and Irish Cross-Country International at Swansea on Saturday.

The event is a five-way contest involving England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and the Irish Republic.

Creane, competing for the Republic of Ireland, helped his team win gold in the men's 35-40 age category, while Simpson, representing England, won team gold in the 70+ category.

It was Creane's second team gold in the event, having helped Ireland to first place in the same category 12 months ago, while Simpson also won gold in the 65-70 team category in 2006.
