Neil Cugley is looking forward to comparing the championship credentials of Ryman League, Division 1 South title challengers Maidstone United and Dulwich Hamlet.

The Folkestone Invicta boss saw Hamlet close-up when they won 2-0 at Cheriton Road last week, and goes head-to-head against Stones at the Gallagher Stadium on Tuesday, in a match delayed due to the County Town club’s FA Trophy commitments.

Maidstone went top on goal difference after their 2-0 win at Burgess Hill on Tuesday night and meet Hamlet in a top-two showdown at Champion Hill Stadium on Saturday.

He said: "We did well against Hamlet and had we been playing a side with less quality than them, we might well have got a result.

"I get a lot of satisfaction out of seeing the boys put so much in for the club, with some of them playing for nothing."

Invicta travel to another Surrey side, Merstham, on Saturday – the Moatsiders have scored 43 goals and conceded 47 in their 22 league games so far this season.

Cugley added: "They are a side who always try to play the right way and I am sure we will have to work hard to get a result there."
