Film-goer found dead in cinema toilets

An elderly woman was found dead in the toilets at Cineworld on Ashford's Eureka Park.

The woman was visiting the cinema on Wednesday night with her daughter when she became ill. She was from the Deal area.

A post mortem examination on Thursday revealed that death was due to natural causes and no inquest will be held.

Cineworld general manager Andy Grove, said: “With great sadness we can confirm one of our customers passed away.

“As soon as our staff were alerted to the incident, emergency services were contacted and arrived within minutes.

“ We are doing everything we can to help the authorities whilst they investigate the cause of death.

“However, as this is an ongoing investigation it would be inappropriate for us to comment any further and we offer our deepest sympathies to the customer’s family and friends at this difficult time.”

Audiences at the nine-screen cinema were evacuated following the incident.
