Lucky escape for driver after car overturns in Hunter Road, Willesborough

A driver had a lucky escape when his car crashed and ended up on its roof.

The vehicle smashed into a line of parked cars in Hunter Road, Willesborough, before overturning at around 5am today.

Witnesses reported that the driver got out safely.

One posted on the Ashford Kent Today Facebook page: “Luckily the driver was ok and was able to walk home and tell his parents. Lucky lad.”

A police spokesman said: "We were called to a report of an overturned vehicle. The car had also collided with a number of parked vehicles.

"The male driver was uninjured, and there were no other reported injuries. The car, a black BMW, was recovered at 7.15am."

Fire crews were called to make the scene safe.

A spokesman for Ashford fire station said: “We were called at 5.15am. There was only one car involved in the accident and it was still on its roof when we got there.

“We just made the scene safe and were there for about 20 minutes.”
