Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash on the A20 near Hythe this morning.

Officers remain at the scene on the Ashford Road following the crash between a white Vauxhall Corsa and a white Mercedes van.

It happened shortly before 8am on the road which is close to the junction 11 roundabout for the M20.

One man has been taken to hospital in London by air ambulance with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

Another man has been taken to hospital with what are believed to be minor injuries.

The road remains closed in both directions between the junction 11 roundabout and the turn off for the race course.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are at the scene.

The road is expected to remain closed for several hours.
