Police have been informed of a meeting of petrolheads - promoting fears of anti-social behaviour including blasting loud music and revving engines.

A dispersal order is being enforced in Ashford for 48 hours at a number of industrial estates in the area.

These include Henwood Industrial Estate, Ellingham Industrial Estate and Sevington Industrial Park.

Previous meetings have resulted in police receiving numerous complaints about anti-social behaviour including loud music, revving engines and driving offences.

The order will remain in place from tonight at 6pm until Sunday at 6pm.

It allows police to disperse people and vehicles from the area. Once they have been dispersed, they are not allowed to return for up to 24 hours.

But if they do so, they risk further action including the seizure of property such as vehicles.

Inspector Jason Atkinson, of Ashford’s Community Safety Unit, said meet ups like this have previously caused "alarm and distress" to the public.

"We are happy to work with organisers and offer advice and guidance to avoid offences being committed," he said.
