The man, thought to be middle-aged, exposed himself to two boys, aged 12 and 13, in the swimming pool changing rooms at Tenterden Leisure Centre on January 13 and in front of two 12-year-old boys in the changing rooms on May 19.

Det Sgt Andy Chapman, of Ashford police, who is leading the hunt for the man, said: “This is a serious offence and was unnerving for the youngsters involved. Anyone with information with regard to the identity of this man or who has information that will help the investigation is asked to contact my team at Ashford police station.”

The man is white, thought to be aged aged 50-65, and between 5ft 5in and 5ft 7in tall. He is said to be overweight with a large stomach and short grey hair.

He is also said to have a number of body piercings, which includes having the skin between his toes pierced.

The January incident occurred between 2.30pm and 3pm. The most recent incident happened between 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

Leisure centre manager Bill Thompson said: “We are working with the police as closely as we can and are pleased with our upgraded security system measures. We have made a hefty investment in our CCTV system.”

He added: “We are always vigilant and we rely on our staff and our members to help.

We have more than 400,000 visits in a year and this is a rare occurrence. We are doing everything we can to help the police.”

Rosy Alexander, Ashford police spokeswoman, said: “It is important that we talk to this person and anybody who thinks that they know him. Anyone in two minds about speaking to us can do so in confidence.”
