Designs revealed of new flats along Victoria Road, Ashford

Photos have been released of the designs for a new housing development near Ashford town centre.

Investin PLC are the developers behind the new flats set for Victoria Road, as part of a £50 million rejuvenation project for the area.

Over the next few years, the area along both sides of Victoria Road - near the Ashford International Station - will be developed, with a brewery, Aldi store and 120-bedroom hotel also being built.

The housing development, believed to be called Victoria Point, will see the construction of 216 modern apartments spread over six storeys on land around the BP Garage on Beaver Road .

There will be a range of one and two-bedroom flats, in several different layouts, all which are set to include 'private amenity space in the form of either balconies or terraces'.

Below some of the flats, on the ground level, there are set to be a few units built for commercial use. There is also set to be landscaped gardens and a river walk for residents to enjoy.

A spokeswoman for Investin PLC said: "We are hoping to start infrastructure works over the next couple of months. Completion is expected for [the end of] 2020."

The developers are also working on another major housing development in Ashford.

Work has now begun on Vista, the construction of more than 100, one and two-bedroom, flats on either side of the Panorama building - formerly Charter House.

It is hoped they will be completed by January 2019.
