Demand for probe after Eurostar arrest

EUROSTAR is demanding an investigation after a man got through the tunnel and was found hanging off the roof of a train.

The man, who has now been handed over to immigration authorities, was arrested at Ashford International on Monday after passengers from Paris alerted train staff to two people on the outside of the train.

Eurostar is now asking French authorities to investigate how he managed to get through French security.

Eurostar spokesman Gareth Headon said: "It is not a regular occurrence and is a rare incident but we of course take it very seriously and are looking into it."
