Delays on M20 between junctions 9 and 8

A crash on a motorway, paired with planned roadworks, is resulting in large queues for drivers.

The M20 London-bound is partially blocked, due to an incident involving two vehicles between Junction 9 for Ashford and Junction 8, near the Maidstone Services.

Officers were called to the crash at 6.25am.

A spokeswoman from the force said: "Kent Police was called to reports of a collision involving two vehicles on the M20 London-bound between junctions 9 and 8.

"SECAMB are also at the scene, minor injuries have been reported."

The road has been partially reopened and traffic is currently able to get past.

Delays are also being caused by lane closures due to roadworks to upgrade the central reservation between Ashford and Maidstone.

Contractors are widening the middle of the motorway to allow the concrete barrier needed for Operation Brock - and usually stored on the hard shoulder - to be moved there.
