Cyclist hurt following collision with car in Somerset Road, Ashford

A cyclist has been injured in a collision with a car this afternoon in Ashford.

The crash happened at about 4.20pm in Somerset Road, close to the junction with North Street.

Ambulance crews attended following a report a 28-year-old man on a cycle had been involved in a collision with a car.

He has been taken to the William Harvey Hospital, although the extent of his injuries are not yet known.

The driver of the car was not hurt.

A police spokesman said: "SECAMB called Kent Police at 4.30pm after a 28-year-old man on a cycle was involved in collision with a car.

"He has been taken to WHH."
