A cyclist was killed after a collision with a van.

The accident happened at Bliby Corner, Mersham, just before 4pm on Tuesday.

The victim was going towards the crossroads at Bliby Corner from the west, and was in collision with a silver Vauxhall Vivaro, travelling from north to south.

The 49-year-old local man was taken to the Royal London Hospital by air ambulance, where he died from head injuries.

Kent Police’s Serious Crash Investigation Unit attended the scene and the road was closed until 8.20pm.
