Over 5,000 people packed into Ashford's Designer Outlet
Centre on Thursday night to catch a glimpse of Peter Andre as
he switched on the Christmas lights.

After singing his hit, Mysterious Girl and John Lennon's Happy
Xmas (War is Over), he was joined on stage by the other acts of the
night - Pip and Puppy from Britain' s Got Talent, Take That 2,
Willesborough singer Emily Ware, Nate Young and New Romney band
Tripping Over Air - to push the plunger and switch on the Outlet
Centre's 130,000 lights.

Talking exclusively before going on stage,
Peter said: "So many people watch my reality show and it's so
nice when so many people turn up to see you because they know
you.

"This Christmas I'll be eating, drinking, sleeping on the couch,
watching movies, eating chocolates - kids climbing all over
me - and having friends over.

"It's a great time and I love that here it's
traditional. In Australia you don't get the traditional
Christmas feeling - it's a hot day but it's missing this, the
traditional English Christmas.

"In Australia we'd have a cold turkey
with a beer, which doesn't make sense because you don't go cold
turkey and have a beer. But this year I'll be doing a big turkey
and a big lamb - a 'lurkey'."

"My Christmas message is please be happy, and I hope you get
everything you want. Santa is a good bloke and he usually
gives you what you want, and even if you only get half of what you
want, there's always next year. I wish you happy prosperity for
next year."

Among those meeting the singer were our VIP ticket winners,
nine-year-old Kayleigh Wood from Beaver Lane, Ashford and
11-year-old Phoebe Matticucci from Oast Meadow,
Willesborough.

They received the singer's calendar, a goody bag and a big
hug.
