Steve Ottewill and his team of silversmiths and jewellers based at Evegate, Smeeth, will be among the cream of the nation's craftsmen exhibiting at the prestigious Goldsmiths’ Hall Fair in London over the next fortnight.

For two decades the team from the rural workshops has designed and produced innovative pieces that have been on show in both New York and Milan, receiving worldwide recognition.

At this year's Worshipful Company of Goldsmith’s annual competition a Mace made for Cumbria University was recommended for both the Cartier award and the Goldsmiths Company special award.

The Smeeth craftsmen are expecting a big boost in sales for their showpiece items at the top show after already recording their best year ever.
