The chief executive of Ashford Borough Council has announced today that he is leaving.

David Hill will leave Ashford in July to take up the role of chief executive of Milton Keynes Council.

Mr Hill has been boss of Ashford for more than seven years in which time he has been heavily involved in the completion of a masterplanning process for the borough, instrumental in the council gaining Beacon status for various functions and in the signing of the agreement to the PFI scheme which is regenerating Stanhope.

Mr Hill said: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Ashford Borough Council, working with such a committed team of people.”

Cllr Paul Clokie (Con), leader of the Council, said: “I wish David every success with his future career at Milton Keynes.”

“Over the coming weeks I will be working with senior colleagues to put in place future management arrangements for the council.”
