Car catches fire on M20

One man was injured following a motorway crash that sparked a car fire.

The car and a van collided on the M20 between Junctions 9 and 10 this morning, causing a section of the road to be closed this morning (Feb 15) .

South East Coast Ambulance Service have now confirmed that one man was hurt and taken to Ashfords William Harvey Hospital but his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

The accident happened shortly before 8am on the coastbound carriageway.

Two engines from Ashford Fire Station were called to deal with the blaze.

South Kent Police said that two lanes of the motorway had to be closed following the crash.
