A brother has spoken of his relief that his sister is still alive, after her car flipped onto its roof during a collision in Folkestone last night.

Alex Tuck, whose account says he is studying music at Sussex University in Brighton, took to Twitter after learning of the crash on Sandgate Road.

His sister overturned her Ford Ka after a collision with a Renault Clio at around 6.45pm.

Speaking today, Maddy Tuck, 21, said she had been coming down Sandgate Road and passed an island when she was temporarily blinded by the sun.

Alex, who ‏uses the handle @ATluecxksaid: "My sister's flipped her car in Folkestone. Escaped with cuts and bruises, but the cars totalled. No one's cheated death more than her.

"I would apologise for her for anyone who was held up in Folkestone for it, but I'm just glad I still have a sister. Off to William Harvey.”

Firefighters treated Maddy with first aid before paramadics arrived. She was then taken to the William Harvey Hospital in Ashford.
