Pluckley railway station trespasser arrested as passengers face delays on Southeastern services running between Paddock Wood and Ashford International

Rail commuters have been caught up in delays after a trespasser had to be removed from the tracks.

Southeastern confirmed a person spotted on the tracks, near Pluckley Railway Station was holding up services in the area at around 11am.

It meant trains running between Paddock Wood and Ashford International were delayed.

A spokesman for Southeastern said: "At midday the trespasser was removed from the railway so services will be able to run through the station again shortly.

"Trains in the area have been delayed so may be amended at short notice to enable to services to get back on time again."

British Transport Police confirmed they attended the scene.

A spokesman said: "Officers were called to the line near Pluckley railway station at 11.17am following reports of a trespasser on the line.

"A man was arrested on suspicion of trespass and taken to police custody."
