Accident on A28 Canterbury Road, Ashford

A car and a motorbike have collided in Ashford with one man being taken to hospital.

Police and ambulance crews were at the scene, on the A28 Canterbury Road. The incident is between The Bybrook Barn Harvester and the Holiday Inn.

A witness said: "Everybody came together and were directing traffic. In such a sad situation it was such a lovely thing to see everybody working together to keep the biker safe."

A police spokesman said: "We were called at 12.10pm to reports of a collision between a car and motorcycle on Canterbury Road at Kennington.

"The motorcyclist was taken to William Harvey Hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life threatening."

The vehicles were recovered and road cleared by 1.10pm.

Queues reached the bridge over the M20, plus Trinity Road from J9 and on Faversham Road to the A2.

Stagecoach South East tweeted, warning passengers to expect delays.
