Details of the closure on One Network say the closure will be in place until midnight on Thursday.

Diversion signs are instead taking motorists around Magazine Road and the A292 towards Drover's Roundabout.

Yesterday a tree fell onto Canterbury Road just metres away from where the roadworks are now placed causing tailbacks in Kennington.

The tree has now been removed.
