14 charged over incident on 'football' train

BRITISH Transport Police have charged 14 men following a series of dawn raids in Kent and other parts of the south east following a violent football-related incident on a train.

They were arrested by police during a swoop on 17 addresses early on Thursday morning.

Those accused include 29-year-old Adam Henry, from Dartford, and Andrew Spicer, 37, from Ashford.

All 14 men have been interviewed by police and charged with violent disorder. They have been bailed to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court later this month.

The charges relate to an incident at Sydenham railway station on Saturday, September 1 this year.

Bail restrictions have been imposed on all 14 men, including orders preventing them from attending certain football matches and from associating with certain individuals.
